Acrobat provides standard tools to split PDF into single pages. For more sophisticated tasks like to split PDF files into groups of pages (e.g. chapters) we have created the tool MVPDFPageExtractor.

For example MVPDFPageExtractor is able to work with external information (e.g. CSV files) and using document specific content or meta information like font names or font sizes as well.

MVPDFExtractor can work with single input files and/or with folders, using a customized naming convention for the output.

We are able to adapt such tools to our customers needs in a short term.

The task: A company wants to be able to search a PDF archive using structured keywords and meta data. The data has to be consistent with a list of predefined and precategorized keywords.

The plug-in MVPDFArchiver displays an archiving dialogue where, depending on selectable categories, the keywords can be picked from drop-down lists. Additionally it is possible to have free text fields and/or data fields e.g. for the archiving date. This makes the PDFs searchable with the standard Acrobat search engine using custom data fields.

After applying the keywords, the files are stored in custom meta data fields and the PDF is saved in predefined folders.
